I once heard a speaker at a youth conference make a case that 11 of the 12 disciples were most likely teenagers. He went on to say that Jesus, then, was a youth pastor with one adult sponsor and one bad kid. I?m not sure Jesus was the leader of a group of teenagers, but he made it clear that the message of the gospel is for adults and teenagers alike. Throughout the Bible there are great stories of teenagers who were used by God. God believes in teenagers, and so do I. I began my relationship with God when I was a teenager, and now I want to use my life to introduce teenagers to the person of Jesus Christ. I think there is nothing more thrilling than seeing students be introduced to Jesus and watching as he transforms their lives and uses them to impact the world.
I was born and raised in a great Christian home in northeast Ohio, graduated from Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, served as a youth pastor in a church in northern Virginia, and now have the blessing of seeing more snow in Wisconsin than all my winters spent everywhere else.
When I am not at the church preparing for another student ministry event, I enjoy spending time at home with my wife, Tia, my son, Leyton, and my daughter, Brynley. I also enjoy rooting for my Kentucky Wildcats, drinking sweet tea, and playing as much golf and Frisbee golf as possible.
